View Linked Promotions in the Forecast

Easily jump into your promotions, right from your forecasting view. No need to toggle back and forth between tabs or the separate modules

Overview

The View Linked Promotions in Forecast feature provides seamless integration between Vividly's Forecast and Promotion Planning modules, allowing users to instantly see which promotional events are running during specific weeks and directly access promotion details without leaving the Forecast view. When working in the Forecast module and drilling down to a specific customer and product group, a dedicated Promotion row appears in the weekly timeline, displaying either "None" (indicating no promotional activity during that week) or "View" (indicating one or more promotions are currently planned for that period). This visual indicator makes it immediately clear which weeks include promotional lift in the forecast calculations and which weeks reflect baseline sales only. By clicking the "View" hyperlink, users can jump directly to the promotion profile to review details of that promotion.

Steps to Open Promotions in the Forecast

  1. Log into Vividly and navigate to the Insights section using the left-hand navigation menu.
  2. Click on Forecast to open the Forecast module.
  3. You'll arrive at the main Forecast view showing a table of customers (if pivoted by Customer) or product groups (if pivoted by Product).
  4. Locate the Pivot By dropdown or selector near the top of the Forecast interface.
  5. Ensure you're viewing by Customer (if you want to see promotions for a specific customer account). If currently pivoted by Product, switch to Customer view.
  6. In the Forecast table, locate the customer you want to review (e.g., "Sprouts," "Whole Foods," "Target") and click on the customer name to drill down into that customer's detailed forecast.
  7. The view will expand to show all product groups selling through that customer, organized in rows. Click on the dropdown arrow in order to show all the details of that specific product group.
  8. Between all the displayed rows, notice there will be one called Promotions
  9. In that row, you'll notice to values:
    1. View (Hyperlinked) = Running promotion linked.
    2. None = No running promotion linked.
  10. Click on View and then the linked promotion profile will be opened.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Check multiple product groups: When drilling into a customer, review the Promotion row for all product groups to ensure promotional plans are coordinated across categories.
  • Leverage the selection window: If multiple promotions are running in the same week, use the View hyperlink to review each one individually—this helps identify overlapping promotions that may create compounding lift effects.
