[Forecast](https://knowledge.govividly.com/insights?hsLang=en#forecast) July 31, 2026 # Bulk Edit Stores & Velocity with Ramped Forecast Overrides ### **Overview** Manual overrides let you adjust Stores or Velocity for future weeks in the Retailer Forecast. Previously, a single override applied the same flat value across an entire date range — useful when a value is staying constant, but not when it's changing gradually. **Ramped Overrides** let you set a value that changes week over week between a **Start Value** and an **End Value**, with Vividly interpolating the weeks in between automatically. Use this for: - Distribution growth (e.g., ramping from 10 stores to 50 as a new item rolls out) - Planned reductions (e.g., stepping down stores ahead of a discontinuation) - Velocity ramps tied to a known trend - Any scenario where a flat override across the range would misrepresent what's actually expected This feature is available in the **Retailer view of the Forecast only**. It does not currently apply to All-Other Buckets or Distributor views — you'll continue to use flat overrides there. --- ### **How to Apply a Ramped Override** 1. Go to **Insights → Forecast**, and switch to the **Retailer** view. 2. Click **Manage Overrides**. 3. **Choose your date range.** Select a start week and end week for the ramp. The end week defaults to one week after the start — extend it to cover the full range you're modeling. 4. **Choose what to override:** Stores, Velocity, or both. 5. **Enter your values.** For each metric you selected, enter a **Start Value** and either an **End Value** or a **Ramp %**. You only need to enter one of the two — Vividly calculates the other for you. **Example:** Start = 10 stores, End = 15 stores, over a 5-week range. Vividly spreads the difference evenly, so you'd see something like 10 → 11.25 → 12.5 → 13.75 → 15 across the five weeks. 6. **Review the preview chart.** Before applying, a chart shows the calculated value for every week in the range, so you can confirm it looks right. 7. Apply the override. #### **How the weekly values are calculated** Each week's value = Start Value + (step × (week number − 1)), where: **Step = (End Value − Start Value) ÷ (Total Weeks in range − 1)** In plain terms: the total change between your Start and End values is divided evenly across every week in the range. --- ### **Things to Know** **Note:** Stores must be entered as whole numbers. Velocity allows up to 2 decimal places. **Note:** Start and End Values can't be negative. If you're modeling a decline, enter a positive Start Value and a **negative Ramp %** instead — this produces a downward ramp without requiring a negative endpoint. **Note:** Manual overrides — ramped or flat — can't be entered while the Forecast is displaying **Cases** as the unit of measure. Switch to **Units** first. See [Toggle Between Forecasted Units & Cases](https://knowledge.govividly.com/toggle-between-forecasted-units-cases?hsLang=en). **Tip:** If you just need a single constant value across a range, you can still enter a flat override — Ramped Overrides doesn't remove that option, it just adds the option to ramp. --- ### **Limitations** - Ramped Overrides currently apply to the **Retailer view only**.
